European Mineral and Recycling Engineering Course (EMREC)

EMMEP European Mineral and Recycling Engineering Course (EMREC) is a two-year MSc mobility program offered by two European leading universities in resource engineering: Aalto University and TU Delft. The program builds on the strengths and the complementary expertise in earth sciences of these two universities. It offers you a combination of study and research, leading to an outstanding qualification in mineral and recycling process engineering. This program replaces the formerly offered European Mineral Engineering Course (EMEC).

Students can register for this MSc mobility program either with Aalto University (as part of the MSc Sustainable Metals Processing*) or with TU Delft (as part of the MSc Geo Resource Engineering**). The student pays the tuition fee (if applicable) at the university where he or she registers. This is the same university of which the diploma is issued, upon successful completion.

For this program you will have the opportunity to apply for an Erasmus+ grant.  FEMP is also giving financial assistance to qualifying students through loans or scholarships. The amounts vary, depending on the country of origin.

The student spends two teaching semesters at the university of registration and one exchange semester at the partner university. The program follows a different sequence, depending on the university of registration:

Interested? Ready to apply?

Great! Please contact Ms. Marieke Bouman (TU Delft: [email protected]) or Ms. Anja Hanninen (Aalto University: [email protected]) to receive the necessary information.

Please note that if you are not an Aalto or TU Delfst student, you need to go apply for the full master program at either TUD or Aalto University.

Take the deadlines underneath into mind. Applying for the Erasmus+ grant is integrated in the exchange procedure.

*Important note: students that have obtained their Bachelor degree outside of Aalto University or TU Delft need to be admitted into the master program first, before they can apply for the EMREC. The application period for the master program in Sustainable Metals Processing at Aalto University is from 15 December 2016 to 25 January 2017.  For the Aalto admission procedure, please go here. The application period for the master program in Geo- and Resource engineering at TU Delft is from 1 October 2017 to 1 April 2018. TU Delft admission requirements and procedure can be found here.
