2021 European Mining Course (EMC) Program

The triple Master degree of European Mining Course (EMC) covers every aspect of the life cycle of mineral resources. It is designed to provide a solid understanding of the global mining industry and takes a life-cycle approach by covering the entire mining value chain. The programme offers a state-of-the-art technical basis in resource modelling, mine design and economic evaluation. Technical knowledge is also supplemented with topics on business, economics, ethics and environmental engineering. The programme also covers a clearly defined and structured topic series on the management of health and safety and environmental impact of mining. EMC aims to train professionals of the future, who will be the decision makers and game-changers in mineral resources and associated engineering trades, delivering a strong vision of the future of the industry.

EMC supports the development of students into adaptive, innovative and entrepreneurially-oriented engineers that are capable of identifying the best approach to obtaining optimal value from mineral ore deposits.

The world recognised European Mining Courses (EMC) is offered as a structure exchange program for 2022. Our partner universities RWTH Aachen, Aalto University and MU Leoben provide the highest level of mining education through a structured, flexible exchange. Fees

You will be enrolled at TU Delft for the entire two-year period and at a partner university of their track, according to the rules of that university. Fees are paid to Delft during the whole duration of the program. For the academic year 2021-2023 this yields:

Students with EU/EFTA nationality: 2,143,‐ Euros/year
Students with non‐EU/EFTA nationality: 18,750 ‐ Euros/year
(There may be extra fees during your studies, such as social contributions or student union fees)

Scholarships

Admitted students may be awarded a scholarship in order to cover the fees and other costs:

FEMP scholarship: awarded to excellent students throughout the programme.

The Erasmus Mobility Scholarship: covers a max of 12 months of study in a country within the EU. It can only be requested once per academic year for mobility periods taking place outside of the Netherlands. To start the application an Erasmus+ Learning Agreement will need to be completed. Make sure you enquire if you are eligible for this scholarship (only after being accepted into the program) by contacting erasmusgrant[at]tudelft.nl.
